Abstract

Common problems on motorways with concrete pavements include edge chipping along the edges of the concrete slabs, damaged pavement transitions (joint damage), reduced skid resistance, cracking and concrete slab migration or subsidence. To effectively repair these damages, concrete pavement rehabilitation works are carried out during periods of low usage, such as weekends and/or during night hours. During these periods, the concrete pavement will be rehabilitated in sections on individual lanes while traffic is routed on the remaining lanes.
