Analysis of mobile phone use by pedestrians

Abstract
Decreased attention of road users is often a cause of road accidents. Distraction is recognized as a important problem of road safety. Designing preventive measures requires a range of research on this topic. The subject of the research have so far been mostly drivers. However, research pedestrians’ distraction are becoming increasingly important. The subject of this paper is the pedestrians’ distraction using mobile phone while crossing the roadway. The main aim of the research is to determine the effect of different characteristics of the behaviour of pedestrians on the use of mobile phones.
