Historical development оf traffic lights
Abstract
At the beginning of the XX century the development of traffic lights was a big advance in a traffic regulation. A lot of patents related to traffic lights throughout history indicates its significance. Nowadays, after just over a century, traffic lights are far more important in the traffic regulation and safety of all traffic participants. The initial work of traffic lights has been greatly overcomed and now there is the latest generation of adaptive controll of traffic flows. However, even though the semaphore's technology made and its work are unrecognizable, the original appearance of the semaphore remained faithful to the initial visions of the first inventors. In this paper, a brief overview of the historical development of traffic lights will be presented.
